The first boiler inspection society for technical supervision was founded before 150 years. A series of accidents occurred in 1865 in a recovery in Mannheim in Germany. With the explosion of a boiler the boiler attendant was killed and several employees were very gravely wounded. As the cause, several erroneous performances were identified such as shortage of water in the boiler, too much pressure and defective maintenance. The employees were not sufficiently made aware of the so caused danger and they had almost no education and current knowledge whatsoever. This accident was the occasion for the founding of the German society for the inspection and safety of boilers under the directive of VDI (Association of German Engineers) in the beginning of the year 1866 with its office in Mannheim by 22 undertakings.- Smart Factory on the way in Future

The biggest construction work of the world is more than 105 metre high, 162 metre long, 257 metre wide and weighs about 36000 tons. It should in the meantime replace the knocked down sarcophagus which was constructed on the reactor in 1986. Immediately after the nuclear accident in 1986 the sarcophagus, a huge construction made of 30000 ton concrete and 7000 ton steel had been porous due to active radiation and disintegrating heat as also penetrating humidity thereby releasing partly radioactive dust.- Defence against Terrorist Strike on Nuclear Plants

Smartphones: These are computer, telephone, MP3 player, Navigation equipment and many more. Possibly this makes the steady progress of chip technology. Gordon Moore formulated in 1960 that law which since then pushes on progress of semiconductor technique. About every 18 months the efficiency of chips is doubled as the case may be and correspondingly their size and prices are also being reduced. That this law today is known to the engineers attached to manufacturers and has a simple basis. All the progress of the chip-technique knocks down more or less distinctly also in that production which are prepared with these chips. Example Cray-2 the fastest supercomputer at that time in the year 1985. The computer was distinctly about 1m3 big, weighed 2.5 tons inclusive of fluid cooling medium and had a computing efficiency which lies in the dimension of iphone 4 of Apple. Carbon Nanotubes should deliver in future the basis for ultra stable materials. But the allied research should prevent the health hazardous development. Their diameter is 50000 times smaller than human hair. Moreover they exhibit properties which inspire material scientists. Chemically it is nothing more than a matter, called graphite. The special properties of the nanotubes are the outcome of their structure. Individual molecule positions of graphites are rolled up to single or manifold capillary tubes.

In 2050 there will be twice the number of mouths so much more population to be fed. Every year 10 million hectare farmland is likely to be lost due to degradation mainly through erroneous cultivation method and erosion. Therefore, it is an urgent necessity to stop degradation and recultivate the land by adopting effective measures globally/internationally/nationally. We have 1.4 milliard hectare farmland on earth. The researchers of the University of Hohenheim, Germany work on the solution globally. It is desirable that internationally coordinated research should be carried out to face the challenge posing almost each and every country of the world specially Africa and Asia. UNO should emphasize on the very useful research on global set up.

We are fully aware of the consequences if it is so. So the world must tackle the problem of climate change more aggressively to make the world habitable for our children and grand children at least as of today. For the first time the countries of the world have come to consensus for an effective climate agreement on Saturday, the 2nd week of December 2015 in Paris. The global warming should in any case be limited to 2°C as against the pre-industrial age level. With the present ratified climate agreement the entire global community for the first time has been bound for action. It means the farewell to fossil fuel, therefore decarburization. Beyond 2020 the global countries will present the new climate protection plans in every five years, which must be ambitious always than the previous ones.

The more a city can attract industrial concerns and expert’s better people can think of it. However more people houses higher requirement of energy and transportation. In this case as in the past more power houses and roads would have to be built, breathing protection masks are soon day-to-day requirements when the investors inhabit the city. “The costly experts become sick or do not have any desire to undertake a job in this surrounding” says Klaus Heidinger of IT expert of Siemens.References

The engineers and researchers long ago accomplished the biological transformation and use the wealth of nature for technical solution. An uptodate project of german Academy of Technical Science (Acatech) illustrate with promotion through the Federal Research Ministry (BMBP) the innovation potential biologically inspired materials for the application in chemistry, energy, medicines and robotic as also art and design. After some ups and downs in the engineering education system during the period from 1950 to the end of the cultural revolution in 1976, the engineering education recovered rapidly. It is a new stage in course of development, and systematic measures have been adopted for improving the quality of engineering education even in collaboration with industrially advanced countries of the world since the government adopted an open policy to the outside world.- Sethusamudram Project — its Environmental Impact

There is no denying the fact that the global warming is mostly caused by human activity. It has been predicted that unlimited pollution of the atmosphere caused by the emission of dangerous CO2 and other greenhouse gases will create unprecedented hazard on our planet endangering the human, animal and plant lives and ecosystem as a whole. National and international bodies have already realised the danger of this phenomenon and are trying to adopt possible measures to reduce greenhouse gas emission in order to save our planet from destruction. In this article an attempt has been made to highlight the causes of global warming, its horrible consequences worldwide and the possible measures for mitigating the same adopted by national and international bodies. Keywords
